In 1870 Johann Georg Fahr (1836 - 1916) started the Maschinenfabrik Fahr in Gottmadingen. The company was mainly engaged in importing/modifying hay machines. In 1938 the first Fahr Diesel tractor, the F22, came on the market. In 1942, because of the fuel shortage, a tractor that ran on wood gas was built. by 1957, 50,000 tractors had been built. In 1958 Fahr teamed up with another German tractor manufacturer Güldner. Various acquisitions and collaborations thereafter. In 1976 the independence of Fahr was completely terminated and from then on all tractors and implements of Fahr and Deutz were called Deutz-Fahr.

Deutz-Fahr is a German agricultural machinery and tractor brand that has existed since 1981 and emerged from the agricultural technology division of Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz AG (KHD) with the Deutz and Fahr brands. Deutz-Fahr has been part of the SAME-Deutz-Fahr Group since 1995. A tractor which seen everywhere in use in the area we grew up, around the Dutch-German border. Mainly own pictures at this page.
